Bio

Karla Williams is an award-winning writer across TV, short film, and scripted audio.

She was in the writers’ room for the Hattrick, Wonder Project, and Amazon Studios drama SPIRES and wrote on season 8 of the Kudos drama Grantchester for ITV. Her audio drama Famous, is an Audible Original and she has written for the podcast series Legacy for Wondery Media.

Her award-winning short film Pretty Bitch has been screened at festivals internationally, including BFI Future Film Festival and London Short Film Festival and she has two monologues published in the anthology Hear Me Now: Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour by Oberon Books.

She’s the founder of female focused production company MsMono for whom she executive produces. She is one of the executive producers on the short film The Ride, funded by BFI Network, Canada Council of the Arts and Toronto Arts and co-writer and executive producer on an 8-part audio series co-produced with Hat Trick Podcast. She is also executive producer on a Listen Audio & MsMono co-production comedy/drama audio series due for broadcast on Audible UK in July 2025.

She’s a BAFTA Connect member and was selected for Momentum, the career development programme by We Are Parable supported by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television. She is also on the Creative Access career development programme Thrive supported by Banijay.
